Products Description
VP/VA Copolymer is a copolymer made from ethylene (VA) and pyrrolidone (VP) monomers. It is widely used in many fields such as cosmetics, personal care, coatings and adhesives.
Polymeric film-forming agent for use as hair fixatives particularly in aerosol sprays, pump sprays, liquid products, mousses and gels. Made of vinylpyrrolidone (VP) and vinyl acetate (VA) copolymer (ratio 60:40). Purity 100%. Solutions are nonionic and thus do not need to be neutralized.
- Chemical Structure: VP/VA copolymer is a polymer formed by copolymerization of pyrrolidone and ethylene monomers. Its structure contains polar and non-polar parts, which makes it have good compatibility and versatility.
- Physical properties: VP/VA copolymers are usually colorless or light yellow viscous liquids or solids with good transparency and glossiness. They have good solubility and can be dissolved in a variety of organic solvents and water.

Use
Add to water phase of formulas (usually no heating required). Typical use level between 1-12%. For external use only.
Applications
- Cosmetics and Personal Care: VP/VA copolymer is commonly used in hair spray, styling spray, skin care products and cosmetics as a thickener, film former and binder. It can provide good durability and gloss.
- Coatings: In water-based and solvent-based coatings, VP/VA copolymers can be used as film formers to enhance the adhesion, water resistance and abrasion resistance of the coatings.
- Adhesives: Due to their excellent adhesion properties, VP/VA copolymers are widely used in various adhesives, especially in the bonding of paper, textiles and plastics.
