Benefits
- Oil-soluble UVA filter
- Can easily be combined with other sunscreens (e.g. octocrylene, homosalate, ethylhexyl salicylate, OM-cinnamate)
Broad spectrum sun protection:
- Avobenzone can effectively absorb UVA (long-wave ultraviolet rays), providing broad protection to the skin and reducing skin damage, sunburn and aging caused by UV rays.
Antioxidant Properties:
- Avobenzone has antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals, helping to slow the skin’s aging process and protect the skin from environmental stressors.
Mildness:
- Avobenzone is generally considered mild to the skin and suitable for use on sensitive skin, with little chance of causing irritation or allergic reactions.
Transparency:
- Avobenzone does not leave a white residue after application, making it suitable for users of all skin tones, especially for consumers who wish to avoid a white cast.
Formula Compatibility:
- Avobenzone can be used in combination with other sunscreen ingredients (such as zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, etc.) to enhance the sunscreen effect.
Application
Sunscreens, Personal Care products, Sun care, Baby Sun care, Daily skin care, Decorative cosmetic with sun protection, Broad spectrum UV-A filter.
Formulation Guide
Incorporate into oil phase, allowed use levels: USA 3%, EU 5%, Brazil 5%, Japan 10%. Do not use avobenzone together with titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide (avobenzone can lose its activity). Ions of heavy metals may induce colored complexes (use EDTA to avoid). Stearates, aluminum, zinc or magnesium salts may induce precipitations. For external use only.
